Crime amongst black people is relatively high, but are all black people criminals? The Duality of Black Crime Prevention

Ever since America was founded, it has had a major problem with racism. Whether a person’s skin is white or black has been unfairly used to determine their value as a person.

In recent years, the unjust treatment of black people by the police in America has become a problem. I’d like to introduce “The Duality of Black Crime” and “The Duality of Gun Use by Police”. The points in question I’d like to introduce are as follows.

1, When attempting to predict what kind of person will commit a crime, is race effective as a predictive factor?

2, Is it possible for the police to maintain the public order of a city and the safety of its citizens by using guns?

In America, there tend to be statistically more black people who have been convicted of crimes “compared to other races”.

Based on this data, there are more than a few among the police who think of black people when preventing crime, a fact that is compounded by a history of racial discrimination against blacks. When it comes to preventing crime, making an assumption about what kind of person seems like they would commit a crime has a good side and a bad side.

On the good side, predicting and taking countermeasures beforehand makes it difficult for crime to occur, and allows for crime to be dealt with quickly when it does occur. For example, by installing surveillance cameras in crime-prone areas.

* The change in murder by young black people. Although it did decrease until 2000, it has hardly decreased since. It is possible that profiling is ineffective.

On the other hand, the bad side is that a person’s personality isn’t bent by the color of their skin, meaning that there are black people who will never commit a crime, and there’s no need for them to be suspected by the police. Not everyone in a group is a criminal, even when the statistical probability is high that they are.

2, Is it possible for the police to maintain the public order of a city and the safety of its citizens by using a gun?

The next issue regarding the use of guns by police is, in short, a question of “how to handle” a person who has committed / may commit a crime.

* Only 54 police officers have been indicted since 2005, and of those, only 11 were found guilty.

There is a good side and a bad side to the police actively using their guns. On the good side, they are able to fight back against an armed person who has committed / may commit a crime and stop the crime from happening, which would then limit the extent of the harm associated with the crime.

On the other hand, the bad side that gets raised is that it’s easy for the police to decide to fire on an unarmed person who can then die before it’s known whether or not they committed a crime. Especially recently, there are no shortage of cases in which a black person has been shot and killed regardless of the possibility that they may have been found innocent at trial.

Finally, Some Important Points

– Relatively many of the true reasons for crime should be seen as an illusion

It’s not a bad thing to stop crimes before they are committed, but not all black people are bad, nor are all white people good. Crime isn’t caused by skin color. Poverty, unemployment, home environment, alcoholism, and so on all make things more complicated. As such, what the police should be concerned about isn’t the weapon or skin color a person has, but the fundamental motives for crime.

– The police should serve more kindly.

The thought of being a police suspect is a very scary one, given how many people the police have shot and killed. It’s possible that people would run away from them, or take on a defiant attitude.
